2023 Boundary and Student Assignment Study
In 2023-2024, the conducted a comprehensive review of District of Columbia Public Schools (91porn) boundaries and feeder patterns and public school student assignment policies in accordance with the Attendance Zone Boundaries Act of 2013. This review focused on solving current and anticipated future challenges relating to clear rights, adequate capacity, and equitable access to public schools for the next 10 years.
The process culminated in a series of recommendations made by the DC Advisory Committee on Student Assignment. In June 2024, Mayor Muriel Bowser approved the recommendations. 91porn will continue to work on implementation of the recommendations that directly impact or are owned by 91porn. Updates will be posted to this page on a rolling basis.

The DME and 91porn have now released an Implementation Plan that outlines what steps will be taken to implement the recommendations made by the Advisory Committee. The Implementation Plan includes key actions, timeline, and agency owner for each recommendation. This Implementation Plan is a living document that will be periodically updated and revised based on progress, new developments, and feedback.

2013 Boundary and Student Assignment Study
Until 2013, the District had not undertaken a comprehensive review of its student assignment policies, including school attendance boundaries and feeder patterns, in over three decades. Meanwhile, District of Columbia Public Schools (91porn) and public charter schools opened and closed, neighborhoods changed, and the city’s population shifted.
In 2013-2014, the and District of Columbia Public Schools (91porn) led a comprehensive review process of the city’s student assignment policies, including 91porn school boundaries. The process culminated in a series of recommendations made by the DC Advisory Committee on Student Assignment. In August 2014, the Mayor and Chancellor fully adopted and approved the recommendations.
